credit card
JNate

I own a small business which often takes credit card numbers over the phone as a deposit. We recently had a customer no show, and she contested through her credit card company when we charged her (she claims it wasn’t explained when she gave us her #). The credit card company took her side and said it is policy to allow anyone contesting to get their money back if there is no signature. How can this be? So many hotels and services take card #’s as deposits!

The interest rate on an unsubsidized Stafford student loan is 6.8%. How often does interest acculumate on such a loan? For example, if my loan is $5000, how do I calculate when and how much interest is capitalized onto the loan. Thank you for your help.

As I understand it, there are plenty of homes going into foreclosure right now. I just don’t know how to find out about them. I live in Jacksonville, FL. Thanks!
Any advice is welcome.

I have one credit card ( revolving credit ) and I have one student loan ( fixed monthly payments ). I want to keep one revolving account and one fixed account. Would a bank loan that pays off the student loan look better as a fixed loan? I guess my question is: Do they both count as fixed loans or is the bank loan a more “authentic” fixed loan?

With the stock market not looking so good (depending what happens tmrw and the rest of the week) I was just wondering how do precious metals tend to do during a recession? Im talking about actual bullion not stocks in the precious metal industry.

I know that student loan interest can be deducted.

My student loans are all either in deferment or forbearance. I’m accruing interest on some of them, but I haven’t actually paid any interest yet. Can I deduct the interest that accrued?

Thanks!

What Loan company will take over my federal student loans when the loans are in forbearance so I can go back to school?
My loans are government loans from Saillie Mae. I owe them under $5000.
I heard about this company that will take over your school loans from them but I don’t know the name of the company.

I keep seeing in the news that foreclosure’s are up XX% in the last year. What they never say is what the foreclosure rate actually is. I mean if it’s up to 4% from 3%, that’s a dramatic 33% increase, but it also means that there are still 96% of people still paying their mortgages.

I just want to know what the real number is.

Will Republicans take responsibilty for the recession?
Bernanke says addition rate cuts may well be necessary, but he says the economy is ok. Is it part of his job to lie?
