debt consolidation
zozosammy

I’ve met with a lawyer to start to file for bankruptcy. The two main components of my debt are a car repo, which for some reason I still owe around $6000, and some payday loans, which I owe around $3000. I’m trying to find a way around bankruptcy, if any, does anyone have any ideas?

With people realising just how easy it is to use credit cards, the industry is flourishing but as a consequence the number of people falling into the credit card debt trap on account of indiscriminate use. When you owe thousands of dollars then you need to seriously consider ways to pay off the debt before it gets too late. Once you have finally realised the mess you are in then it only remains to do something about it by sourcing some credit card debt relief.

The card holder must cease using it while he or she finds an option or the situation will just get worse and will never be resolved. Making the decision can be the hardest part but no-one said credit card debt relief would be easy. There are various debt consolidation alternatives available but the three most common options are detailed below.

Where a person in financial trouble is still able to apply for a credit card, then by obtaining one that offers a low rate of interest the debts can be consolidated leaving just one payment to make regularly until the debt is cleared. Alternatively a person can consolidate their debt with the help of a low interest loan and then decide how much money it will be possible to pay off each month.

Once this amount has been agreed, the person with the debts must ensure the payments are made in full each month until the balance is clear. This particular route is only viable if the person with the debt retains a good credit history and they have the means to pay back the loan once the debts are clear.

Many people find that they have left the situation to long and cannot use normal credit card debt relief means so have to rely on assistance from a debt negotiator. They will normally suggest a sum of around half the debt be paid off with the remaining amount cancelled by the creditors.

The final option is bankruptcy which should not be taken lightly but if the debt is totally out of control and there is no way to escape from the debt trap then filing for bankruptcy may be the only way out. This final option means that the slate will be wiped clean but trying to access credit of any kind will be very difficult while the bankruptcy is in force so rebuilding the credit history will take some time. These options should be considered as a once only relief from credit card debt because lessons need to be learnt so the situation does not happen again.

If you have ever been in deep debt before, you know what a traumatic thing it can be. A similar thing happened to me not that long ago and even now I am not over the full extent of its grip. Money problems never happen overnight and my situation was no different. Many people do not realize it, but as strange as it seems, 20,000 dollars of debt can sneak up on you. Many people just quit at this point but fortune shined on me in the form of a consumer debt consolidation loan which I arranged and saved the day.

When you are in this type of predicament, options are few so bad credit loan company was the best I could get even though I was earning very well but useless managing my own finances. My failing was I just happened to be a compulsive shopper and had to have whatever I wanted there and then. You see small amounts build up slowly and it is simple to convince yourself that it will be easy to manage.

A little here and a little there over a few years soon mounts up into a substantial amount. It was not long before I began to get calls from the bad credit consumer debt consolidation loan companies. Eventually I was worn down by the constant bombardment of offers. The trouble is you have to be very wary with this type of company.

Many of these companies are barely legal but fortunately only a few of them are honest law abiding firms. It is easy to be taken advantage of when you are down and this is what these consumer debt consolidation loan companies play on. Their story sounds so good that you are bound to believe them and accept their offer which will probably turn out to be a lie. Fortunately, I was able to find a company offering loans that really were all that they were cracked up to be.

OK, so I was fortunate enough to previous experience with credit and finance and this helped me with my search. Now I know I should have had more control over my own debts which is true but at least the knowledge came in handy for me when I went looking for a firm specializing in consumer debt consolidation loans. Now just two years later, things have turned around and although I am still paying back the loans, I am able to do it at a slow enough rate that I'm not crushed by the payments.

Can you ask credit Card Card companys to defer a payment for one month? Or a Car payment?

My husband lost his job awhile back, he is having trouble finding a job and we have had several unexpected bills this month. Do credit cards do this and will it affect my credit? I have done very good keeping my payments up and I don’t want to mess up but I am just way over my head. Any suggestions will help. Thank You.

At this time last year me and my husband lost our jobs. Our credit cards were charged off and we almost lost our cars and now we are trying to find a way to build our credit back up but we can’t seem to get approved by any of the on line offers for bad credit? Does anyone know of any credit cards that will give a second chance to people with really bad credit? I need help, any ideas?

Money worries and serious debt are the number one stress creating problems in the Western World and many people actually become very ill from the stress. In this consumer driven world in which we live it is actually hard work to stay in credit but if you are in debt you need to start managing it now. The worst attitude to take is to ignore the situation and hope it will all go away when a debt relief solution might save your home and possessions.

The first thing to avoid is being disturbed by the situation as this will hinder any positive action on your part. Even if you have taken out a large loan perhaps to pay off previous debts, it is imperative that you continue to pay if you want to clear the outstanding balance.

Step one is to sit down and list all your monthly expenses and place them into columns of those that must be paid and those that you can live without. Cut your credit card usage, then start paying for goods in cash again and the psychological act of seeing the money physically leave your hands will make you more careful how you spend it.

Often saving money for your debt relief; even small amounts has a beneficial psychological effect that should not be ignored. By reducing the amount of entertainment you have on a regular basis will allow even more money to go into your fund and your debts will disappear faster.

Although the option of refinancing your mortgage may sound a great way to lower your monthly outgoings and pay off your debts, this is not always the best way so biting the bullet and paying of your immediate debts can be more beneficial. Before you go down this route you must think about why you want this option when there are others that can be used.

Robbing Peter to pay Paul is a system whereby you remove cash from your credit card account to pay the debts accrued on it, but this really is a short term debt relief solution as it increases the balance on it. If re-financing your home does not work then you must consider filing for bankruptcy but this step should not be taken before you take specialist advice from a bankruptcy attorney.

Unfortunately, some people in debt avoid bankruptcy and resort to using their individual retirement account to help pay their debts but you are on a slippery slope if you take this route. Using your IRA as a debt relief solution is fraught with problems and your future tax deferred returns will be lost if you choose this route so just take control of your spending and reduce your debts.

If you ever need help to sort out your financial matters then you will be spoilt for choice as the number of financial management companies grows steadily. For the vast majority of people, the only financial service they care about is their credit card and for good reason.

Although it is true to say that applying for a credit card is not generally something someone does on a whim. On occasion, a person will apply for a credit card just to have it around in case of an emergency. Whatever the reason you cannot dismiss how convenient it is to have one. By now, you may have had your share of pre-approved credit card offers in your virtual and physical mail. The second rule to follow after you have learnt about credit cards is a comparison of the most popular ones and assess which one is best for you. Finally, prior to applying for a credit card make sure you study the terms and conditions you will have to adhere to, before it is too late.

Do not go past this point if you are still not sure what a credit card is and what it means to have one. A credit card is an ongoing loan and there will be conditions you must adhere to if you want to keep it. Hopefully you will by now, understand now why careful research will pay off especially with so many different types of credit card available.

Many people are confused by the term APR or annual percentage rate but don't be as it is just the amount of interest you will be required to pay on the balance each month. Don't let this crucial matter slip by as credit card issuers must inform you of this fact. Aside from APR, the periodic rate must be disclosed to the card holder before they complete the credit card application form so they would have an idea of their outstanding balance and finance charges for each billing period. Other important terms to know before you apply for a credit card are free period also known as grace period plus annual fees, transaction fees and any other charges. If you're not the type of person who is patient enough to research on all these terms, make sure that before you apply for a credit card, the issuer gives you an explanation of how the balance is computed and it must appear on your monthly billing statements.
