I know someone who like many americans is out of work and behind on their mortgage. They got a notice from Wachovia that they are starting the proceedings for foreclosure. If they don’t get a job and make money they will be forced to live with relatives however how long do they have? Some say a year or two. I thought it was only a matter of months before the bank sends the sheriff to kick you out.

I just applied for my first credit card ever yesterday, and I am hoping to get a credit limit of at least $1,500. I have no credit history whatsoever, I don’t have to make a house payment, no dependents, and I make $12.10 an hour working 35-40 hours a week. Would all those factors contribute to a higher or lower credit limit, and do you think I’d be eligible for the $1,500 limit?

My property has been on the market 18 months and never got an offer. I lowered the price to market value but still owe $8000 more in mortgages. Can’t refinance and rent because property value is lower than mortgage balance. Hoping to move in the summer…. is foreclosure my only option?

My wife went through a serious medical problem and the insurance did not cover the cost of the medical bills. We were unable to pay our mortgage, now it is almost 60 days late. We are worried and facing a foreclosure. How can we avoid it? Can the lender help with a back pay or add the back pay on our existing loan or modify our loan??? Has anyone been in this situation, please advice. Thanks.

Hi. My wife and I both have terrible credit, and are looking for a credit card with rewards such as cash back or sky miles. We use our visa cards that are tied into our checking accounts so much that it is a waste to not get rewards, but it is hard to get rewards with bad credit. Any advise?

I have $7,000 in debt and I have heard about debt consolidation. Does this negatively affect your credit rating? Do you get to choose how much you pay monthly or is there a set amount they make you pay? I live in Canada, if that matters.
