I have been living in the same apartment for the last two years (it’s a 4 apartment rental building), and it’s going into foreclosure. The landlord moved out a few weeks ago and said I could live here until the bank kicks me out. I’ve been saving up the last few weeks for a deposit on a future apartment, but I’m wondering how much longer I have to live where I am now.

I guess the landlord knew about the foreclosure stuff for a while, but the only thing I’ve seen was something that came in the mail a few days ago. It was a court paper that said on January 11, there will be “an entry to foreclose” on the property. I live in a suburb of Chicago, IL. Does anyone have an idea of how much longer I can live here before they kick me out?

Also, what kind of notice do they give? 10 day? 30 day? Thanks

They heard a gun shot inside and he found out the resident committed suicide? And the foreclosure was not due to the resident just trying to skip payments.

We are in “accellerated” foreclosure. We haven’t received the notice of sale, but the company refuses to accept any payment from us unless it is the full arrears. Yet, they took our federal tax refund and i was told that legally since we are in foreclosure, they have to return the refund. Is that right?

I have been paying for my house and several people on the block are going into foreclosure. I feel for them, but I don’t think it is right that any president should give handouts for people to keep their house. If that is the case, I want a “government rebate” on my house so I can buy another house. Government handouts for people to save their house is what one candidate is running on. Something smells wrong.

I was going to pay money to have access to a website that had home owners that were in possible foreclosure and needed someone to take over the payments. The company claims that after a few months of making the payment on time. The house can be transfered to the new owner.

There is a home up for auction in three weeks. How do I go about asking the owners if they would like to sell it to me before it is auctioned off? They owe $97,000
I want to offer $110,000 it will pay off there mortage and put a little money in their pocket. If I were to buy it before foreclosure auction it would look alot better on their credit also. How do I ask these people it is such a sensitive subject, and they are probably going through a very hard time right now.

My home is very close to foreclosure. The property is worth about 1/2 the amount of the loan. Since the loan(s) is a 20/80 the house is not covered by PMI. If the bank agrees to a Shortsale, am I still liable for the tax on the debt forgiveness on a 1099 under the congressional debt foregiveness act?

I am bringing home a infant in a few weeks that we are adopting. We know the birth family. We are going to do temporary guardianship at the beginning- then adopt. We are worried that because are credit is bad and because we don’t make tons of money that they will not approve the adoption. Can that happen? Even if the child is already in our home? and do you have to have money in savings etc?
