My husband and I are owners of a home with my parents that is currently trying to be short saled (in California). We have heard from several different people that if the house goes through a short sale or even worse a foreclosure that he will have no chance of getting into a police department. Does anyone have any experience with this? We have really good credit otherwise. He is looking at departments in California and Colorado.

What is a good debt consolidation company that will negotiate what you owe by negotiating with the creditor, and then you owe less than before to each creditor, but you owe them for one big new loan , to them for paying your debts?
So they are getting your debts down by negotiating and then give you a consolidation loan to cover the amount owed to them now?

I am trying to get myself out of debt with pay day loans. I found a law office in PA that helps with this specifically. The problem is that I am in TX and I am not sure if they legally can help me. I don’t want to push the laws. Thanks in advance for any answers!

I have 7 days left to file a response to a foreclosure summons, what do I need to say/include in in the letter? Does my response need to be addressed to the court or to the party who is suing me?
FYI, we have the money to catch up on the arrearages and have already notified the bank.
To add to my original post. Everything has been settled with the bank and their attorneys,Friday we signed the last of our paperwork and we have to mail the cashiers check tomrrow.BUT I still need to respond to the court summons. Hiring a lawyer is not an option at this time.

Doe it show foreclosure and bankruptcy or just a discharge of your mortgage debt??? If so then what’s the use of filing bankruptcy. why not just walk a way from you properties.

I purchased a foreclosure in June 2008. I know the Foreclosure Prevention Act underwent many revisions. Does anyone know if the final version which the President is expected to sign still includes the provision for the $7000 tax credit for the purchase of owner occupied foreclosed homes? I am not a first time homebuyer.
