They should send you a new card with a new expiration date automatically.

You should get a new card about a month before your current card expires. If you don’t, contact your bank.

You should get a new credit card before your other one expires. If you don’t, call the number on the back of your card for help.

As everyone else has stated, the renewal occurs automatically, typically for a period of 2 or 3 years depending on the bank. One thing to look out for is if you have moved, because any return mail will cause the bank to suspend mailings to you, and that tends to be a major cause for non-receival. It is possible to move a credit limit from one card to another if they’re both from the same bank, so that can be helpful if you have an introductory or promotional offer on one card you wish to take advantage of.
