They heard a gun shot inside and he found out the resident committed suicide? And the foreclosure was not due to the resident just trying to skip payments.

Their answer will reveal what kind of heart they have. Even if it is not posted.

I would hope it would do no permanent damage to his/her psyche since what happened had nothing to do with them

Well its not the officers fault the person killed themselves, it is the fault of a person for not making their payments on time. I would think “damn, more paper work” because now I have to call in all other resources and get the whole taping thing going.

Police have to deal with alll types of human suffering and misfortune, it’s the nature of their job., And thank God, some one deals with these issues. Most police officers are quite compassionate, and service oriented. Suicide is one thing the police deal with routinely, and all those committing suicide had their reasons. If the reason was due to financial issues, it’s so sad.
Suicide is the way many police officers deal with their issues, as well.

He would feel like he was doing his job.
The officer had nothing to do with the eviction – he simply delivered the papers. Other than the normal feelings a human being has when he hears of another human being taking his own life, he would feel no worse than the postman would feel if the eviction notice had been delivered in the mail.

I would take care of the paperwork, go back into service and then go home without any further thought on the incident. That persons problems were not my problems. His reasons for blowing his brains out would have nothing to do with me. To be honest, I wouldn’t care. That’s just the way it is.
